Definición:
Para que se pueda clasificar como agricultura de conservación, la actividad debe afectar a una superficie de menos de 15 cm de anchura o menos del 25 % de la superficie cultivada (el valor menor de estos dos). En AQUASTAT se distingue entre cobertura del suelo 30-60 %, 61-90 % y 91 %. La cobertura del suelo debe medirse después de la siembra. La cobertura del suelo inferior al 30 % no se considera agricultura de conservación. Debe haber al menos tres cultivos diferentes en rotación. Actualmente, la rotación no es un requisito de la agricultura de conservación, pero en AQUASTAT se informa de si se aplica la rotación o no.
